Lexus is proud to unveil upgrades on the self-charging hybrid UX 250h. Select from more style choices, improved multimedia and connectivity and a sporty new model grade, F SPORT Design.
The UX 250h achieves excellent efficiency and refined performance with fourth generation Lexus self-charging hybrid technology, its 2.0-litre system developing 184 DIN hp/135kW. The UX 200 is powered by a near-identical version of the hybrid model’s four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine. This unit is notable for its exceptional 40% thermal efficiency, helping it secure strong fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.
The new voice recognition of the multimedia system includes the option of using the “Hey Lexus” on-board assistant. This makes for easier use of voice commands to make phone calls, operate the audio and climate control and search the net. Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay (wireless connection) or Android Auto (wired connection) is provided as standard. True to Lexus’ famous Omotenashi, the Japanese art of hospitality, owners will be able to use the Lexus Link smartphone app to lock or unlock the doors or operate the air conditioning system remotely.
THE NEW LEXUS UX
The revised UX benefits from Lexus’ new multimedia MM21 system, giving faster response, more intuitive, human-centred operation and increased functionality. A touchscreen increases the display size in the vehicle to 12.3" or 8". The centre console is now home to controls for the heated front seats and also features an illuminated tray in front of the air conditioning control panel, with space to hold a large smartphone.
Usability and operability have been improved by optimising the switch layout. Significantly increased computing power means command responses are quicker, while ‘always connected’ cloud-based navigation is provided as standard, giving access to real time road and traffic information for easier journey planning.
The revised UX F SPORT has Adaptive Variable Suspension and front and rear performance rods as standard. These contribute to the model’s sharper handling and chassis response and smoother ride quality on all road surfaces. The AVS’ control system has been adjusted for a seamless shift to high damping force when conditions require. Steering feel has been improved with a new rigid joint between the top of the steering gearbox mount and the suspension member. The shock absorber damping force has been adjusted for optimum performance.
